Pequod's Pizza, Chicago
Chicago is the birthplace of the skyscraper, Ernest Hemingway and deep dish pizza! Having done East Coast pizza and being slightly disappointed I was excited to try Chicago’s version and I wasn’t disappointed. But you just can’t go to any pizzeria, you need a local’s recommendation and the best pizza in Chicago is Pequod’s. Located in DePaul, Pequod’s Pizza is a 10 minute walk from Fullerton subway stop which is on the Red and Brown lines.

Deep Dish Pizza at Pequod's
It’s hard to explain what makes these pizzas amazing but they start with a caramelized crust, topped with a rich tomato paste and finished with your favorite topping. It’s then baked and served in the pan and you scoop it out. Toppings include ground beef, Canadian bacon and fresh garlic to name a few. The taste was like nothing I ever experienced before from a pizza and my New York friend agreed! Could this be the best pizza in the world?
I would love to hear your comments!
What’s your favorite pizza?
