Want Free Views of Chicago Then Head to the John Hancock Center

John Hancock Tower, Chicago

Chicago has no shortage of skyscrapers from the 108-floor Sears Tower and the new Trump International Hotel to the famous Tribune Tower. However, there’s one building that not only offers spectacular views of Chicago but as you’ll find out below it’s free! Standing 100 floors high, the John Hancock Tower offers uninterrupted free views of the Chicago skyline and surrounding areas.

Chicago is spoilt for panoramic views with a number of vantage points offering sights of the city, including the Sears Tower, Clarence Buckingham Fountain and The Aquarium. While the Sears Tower and the John Hancock building both charge to visit the observation deck there is a way to see the view for free at the Hancock Tower.

My tip to see the view for free is to take the elevator to The Signature Room on the 95th floor and then head to the bar that occupies one side of the floor. Most times you’ll be allowed to enter the bar to have a quick peak at the view. Personally, I grabbed a drink and a bite to eat and marveled at the view as it changed from dusk to night. The ladies have an extra treat, the view from the bathroom is supposed to be amazing and that’s free too!

Do you know of any other cool, free stuff to do in Chicago? Leave a comment and share the love!
